Jordan Petaia recalled to Wallabies squad for South Africa Test
Wallabies coach Les Kiss has recalled utility back Jordan Petaia to the Australian national squad for the upcoming Test against South Africa in Perth. Petaia, 26, returns to international rugby after a three-year absence that included a stint in the NFL with the Los Angeles Chargers and professional seasons in France and Japan.
Kiss noted that the training camp provides an ideal opportunity to reintegrate Petaia into the system, noting he will likely be trialled in a back-three position, such as wing or fullback.
Additionally, Western Force flyhalf Harry McLaughlin-Phillips has been named in the squad to replace Carter Gordon, who suffered a fractured fibula during a recent match against Argentina. The squad selection comes as the Wallabies prepare to face the Springboks on September 27.
