Jordan Valley facing increased settlement expansion and displacement

Raed Moqadi, coordinator of the Jordan Valley Field Research Unit, has reported that Israeli authorities are implementing plans to seize control of the Jordan Valley in the eastern West Bank. These actions aim to alter the region's geographic and demographic reality through military training exercises and the designation of lands as nature reserves.

According to reports, 17 settlement outposts have been established recently, resulting in the displacement of 32 Palestinian communities and the seizure of approximately 25,000 dunams of land. These measures include the forced removal of families, the demolition of structures, and the confiscation of water sources and agricultural equipment.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 2,256 attacks by Israeli forces and settlers in July. Furthermore, the Commission recorded 11,074 attacks across the West Bank during the first half of 2026, indicating an increase in organized violence against Palestinian residents.
