Jordanian drug enforcement arrests 28 suspects in nationwide raids
The Drug Enforcement Department, under the Public Security Directorate, conducted 10 security operations and raids across various regions of the Kingdom, resulting in the arrest of 28 suspects involved in drug trafficking and promotion.
In one significant operation in Ma'an, authorities apprehended a highly dangerous armed individual wanted for multiple offenses, including drug trafficking, attempted murder, kidnapping, and forming criminal gangs. Seized from him were 43,000 narcotic pills and three firearms, including an automatic weapon.
Other operations took place in several locations: - Irbid: Five suspects were arrested, with one found in possession of 30 hashish bundles. - Balqa (South Shuna): Five suspects were detained along with hashish and four firearms. - Amman: Arrests were made in two separate cases involving crystal meth and hashish. - Zarqa: Two traffickers were caught at a farm with crystal meth and a firearm. - Central Badia and other areas: Multiple arrests were made involving various quantities of narcotics and weapons.
