Jordanian public shows optimism toward government and water projects

A recent opinion poll conducted by the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan reveals growing optimism among citizens two years after the formation of the Jaafar Hassan government. Approximately 56% of respondents believe national affairs are moving in a positive direction, a significant increase from 33% in the previous survey.

Public confidence in government performance remains stable, with roughly two-thirds of Jordanians expressing trust in the administration. Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan received high marks for his ability to take responsibility, and his field visits to observe local needs received widespread support from 75% of the national sample.

Regarding infrastructure, 91% of the national sample is optimistic about the success of the National Water Carrier project in securing water resources. In terms of digital transformation, 74% of respondents have activated their digital identity via the 'Sanad' application, with 89% of digital service users noting that these tools reduce the need to visit government offices.

Despite the positive trends, economic challenges remain the top priority for citizens. Unemployment and low income were identified as the most pressing issues, followed by poverty and the rising cost of living. However, the percentage of citizens reporting a decline in their financial situation has decreased compared to last year.
