In social media posts, Marlen asserted that Thompson presented himself as separated and even shared conversations regarding a potential divorce from Sepúlveda. She further claimed that Thompson had asked her to stop using contraception to have a child with him. To support her claims, she shared a photograph of the two together.

Camila Sepúlveda addressed the controversy on Instagram, stating that she was unaware of the situation. She remarked, “The only one who was not aware of the situation was me, both knew what they were doing and neither of them is innocent,” and expressed a desire to close the matter for the well-being of her children.
