Jordi Cáceres wins bronze in solo free at European Championships in Paris

Spain’s Jordi Cáceres captured the bronze medal in the solo free event at the European Championships held in Paris, scoring 229.2599 points. He finished behind Britain’s Ranjuo Tomblin, who took gold, and Italy’s Filippo Pelati, who earned silver. Russian competitor Zakhar Trofimov received penalties for two “base marks,” which contributed to his drop in the standings.

Cáceres performed his routine to Alabama Shakes’ “Gimme all your love,” adding an artistic element to the technical competition. The medal adds to Spain’s tally at the championships, following a recent bronze by Iris Tió in the women’s solo free.
