Jordi Sendra ratified as Junts mayoral candidate for Tarragona

Junts party militants in Tarragona voted to ratify Jordi Sendra as the party's mayoral candidate for the 2027 municipal elections. The internal vote, held on a Wednesday, saw 108 of the 154 eligible militants (85%) support Sendra, with 17 voting against and two casting blank ballots. Participation reached 85%, reflecting a high turnout among party members.

Sendra, the incumbent councilor, will seek to repeat his candidacy – the first time a Junts candidate has done so in consecutive elections since 2007. He pledged to build his campaign platform by listening to militants, local entities and citizens. Party secretary‑general Jordi Turull highlighted the strong participation and said the result demonstrates cohesion within Junts and the importance of Tarragona within the party's national project.
