Jordon Ibe sentenced for assault of former partner

Former Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe has been sentenced to a 12-month community order after pleading guilty to assaulting his former partner, Amie Mayson. The sentencing took place at Croydon Magistrates’ Court following an incident in Lambeth, South London, in December.

The court heard that during an argument regarding money, Ibe grabbed Mayson by her hair and pulled out a braid, leaving her with a bald patch. In a victim impact statement, Mayson noted the assault caused significant physical and emotional distress, affecting her self-esteem and confidence.

Ibe, who represented himself, expressed remorse, stating, “I made a serious mistake. I understand it is wrong. I am genuinely remorseful.” In addition to the community order, the 30-year-old was ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work and 27 days of rehabilitation activities. He was also ordered to pay £764 in court costs and victim surcharges.
