Jordy Caicedo scores twice in Huracán victory over San Lorenzo
Ecuadorian striker Jordy Caicedo led Huracán to a 2-0 victory over San Lorenzo in the Argentine Torneo Clausura. Caicedo scored both goals, opening the scoring just before halftime and securing the win in the 57th minute with a right-footed shot.
Following his second goal, Caicedo performed a ‘Topo Gigio’ celebration, which sparked confrontations on the pitch and led to the expulsion of San Lorenzo goalkeeper Orlando Gill for violent conduct. Caicedo later issued an apology, stating the gesture was a result of euphoria and does not reflect his true personality.
Despite the controversy, Caicedo has become a central figure for Huracán, currently tied for the league lead in scoring with 11 goals. The club has embraced his popularity, sharing content on social media that references his performance and celebration.
