Jordyn Tyson injury sidelines Saints rookie wide receiver
New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is expected to miss approximately two months due to a hamstring injury sustained during a joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 13. The eighth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft is projected to be sidelined for the start of the regular season, with some reports suggesting he may begin the year on injured reserve.
Head coach Kellen Moore noted that the injury, which occurred after Tyson was pushed from behind, is distinct from previous hamstring issues the player experienced during his collegiate career at Colorado and Arizona State. Tyson’s history of injuries includes a major knee injury in 2022 and a fractured collarbone in 2024.
In response to the injury, the Saints have held workouts with veteran wide receivers Chase Claypool and Josh Reynolds to bolster roster depth. The setback has also impacted Tyson’s standing in fantasy football rankings and his odds for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
