Dominican Medical College honors Jorge Asjana David and Julio Landrón
The Dominican Medical College (CMD) has issued several high-level honors to prominent medical figures in the Dominican Republic.
Jorge Asjana David, the current rector of the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), was named ‘Maestro de la Medicina Dominicana’. This top award recognizes his 50-year career in surgery, teaching, and his contributions to medical ethics and professional training.
Additionally, Julio César Landrón de la Rosa, the Executive Director of the National Health Service (SNS), was recognized as an ‘Hijo Meritorio’ of the Sánchez Ramírez province. An orthopedic specialist with over 30 years of experience, Landrón was honored for his leadership and service to the national health system. Due to international professional commitments, his son, Julio Landrón Jr., accepted the distinction on his behalf.
