Jorge Javier Vázquez criticizes media treatment of evicted woman

Spanish presenter Jorge Javier Vázquez has expressed indignation following the death of Maricarmen, an 87-year-old woman who was evicted from her home in Madrid's Retiro neighborhood.

Vázquez used social media to criticize the treatment the elderly woman received prior to her passing at Hospital Gregorio Marañón. He claimed she was subjected to mockery in television programs and public discussions during her struggle to maintain her housing. He described her situation as a symbol of the darkest miseries within society.

The Tenants' Union (Sindicat d'Inquilines), which communicated the death, characterized the circumstances surrounding her eviction as an 'absolutely avoidable situation.'
