Jorge Kahwagi Macari, a prominent Mexican figure known for his diverse career in politics, professional boxing, and television, died on September 30, 2026, at the age of 58. His passing was confirmed by public figures including Senator Manuel Velasco Coello and actor Roberto Palazuelos.

Kahwagi held significant political roles, serving as a federal deputy for the Partido Verde Ecologista de México (PVEM) and later for Nueva Alianza, the latter of which he presided over from 2007 to 2011. He gained widespread media attention in 2004 when he took a leave of absence from his legislative duties to participate in the reality show Big Brother VIP.
