CAME gathers 1,300 entrepreneurs for Argentina's International SMEs Day

The Confederación Argentina de la Mediana Empresa (CAME) organized a federal meeting in Parque Norte, Buenos Aires, to mark the International Day of Small and Medium‑sized Enterprises. More than 1,300 business leaders from across the country attended.

The event featured speeches by Buenos Aires city mayor Jorge Macri, Buenos Aires province governor Axel Kicillof and other national officials. Macri highlighted the sector’s role in the national economy, stating that “the City’s growth is tied to the success of its private sector.” Kicillof warned that the current economic model has “destroyed 26,000 companies and 340,000 jobs.” CAME president Ricardo Diab called for real consumption incentives, accessible financing and a new fiscal consensus to reduce tax pressure on formal businesses.

Panels addressed innovation, competitiveness, training, financing, and the regulatory environment, with participants from industry bodies such as the Cámara Argentina de Comercio y Servicios, the Unión Industrial Argentina and the Sociedad Rural Argentina. The gathering reaffirmed CAME’s push for tax relief, deregulation and public‑private cooperation to support the country’s SME ecosystem.
