Jorge Martín faces medical evaluation amid MotoGP title race

MotoGP championship leader Jorge Martín is undergoing medical evaluations to address arm pump, a compartment syndrome in his right forearm that hindered his performance at the San Marino Grand Prix. Following the Misano race, where he finished fifth, Martín and his medical team in Barcelona are determining if surgery is required before the upcoming races in Japan and Indonesia.

This physical setback comes as Marc Márquez has surged in the standings. After a strong performance in Misano, Márquez has tied Martín at the top of the championship with 274 points each.

Additionally, Honda rider Joan Mir has withdrawn from the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix. Mir reported feeling unwell and weak during the Misano weekend, and subsequent medical tests in Barcelona revealed altered blood values, leading his medical team to recommend rest and recovery.
