Jorge Martin joins Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP with former Rossi crew chief David Munoz

Spanish MotoGP champion Jorge Martin is set to move to the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team for the 2027 season. After being released by Aprilia Racing, Martin will be paired with Japanese rider Ai Ogura. Yamaha has appointed David Munoz as his new crew chief; Munoz previously worked as a trusted mechanic for Valentino Rossi in 2020‑21 and is currently assisting Alex Rins. The change follows Yamaha’s decision to part ways with both Alex Rins and Fabio Quartararo, reshaping the team's rider lineup ahead of the next championship year.
