Jorge Martin postpones surgery to focus on MotoGP title race
MotoGP leader Jorge Martin has decided to postpone surgery for arm pump after a successful weekend at the Austrian Grand Prix. Following a second-place finish at the Red Bull Ring, Martin reported feeling significantly better than he did during the Misano race, where the condition had hindered his performance.
Martin, riding for Aprilia, noted that his current therapy appears to be working effectively. He stated, “I will not go into surgery. I will try to continue like this,” citing the high risks associated with surgical procedures. He intends to focus on rest and recovery ahead of the upcoming Asian tour, which includes races in Japan, Indonesia, Australia, and Malaysia.
With this result, Martin has extended his lead in the riders' standings to 12 points over Marc Marquez. While he is not ruling out surgery in the future, he expressed optimism about maintaining his current form to pursue the world championship title.
