Marc Marquez wins double at Japanese MotoGP in Motegi
Marc Marquez achieved a double victory at the Japanese Grand Prix in Motegi, winning both the Sprint Race and the main Grand Prix. His performance significantly tightened the championship race, reducing his deficit to leader Jorge Martin to just two points.
In the main race, Marquez (Ducati) executed a decisive overtake on Martin (Aprilia) on the eleventh lap to take the lead and maintain control until the finish. Marco Bezzecchi secured third place, narrowly defending his podium position against Enea Bastianini.
The weekend was marked by technical challenges, including tire wear issues on the new Motegi asphalt, which led Michelin to recommend harder compounds for the main race. Earlier in the weekend, Jorge Martin had secured pole position with a track record, but Marquez's dominance in the races shifted the momentum of the title fight.
