Jorge Martin wins Silverstone Sprint race at British Grand Prix

Jorge Martin secured victory in the Silverstone Sprint race during the 2026 British Grand Prix weekend. Leading from pole position, Martin maintained control throughout the race, widening his gap to rivals to claim his third Saturday win of the season.

Ai Ogura and Marco Bezzecchi followed in the podium positions. Bezzecchi’s performance was particularly notable as it marked his first official competition following two surgical procedures during the summer break. Despite an early contact at Turn 4 involving Bezzecchi and Marc Marquez, Bezzecchi managed to recover to a podium finish.

The Silverstone circuit, a 5,900-meter track with 18 corners, presented significant technical challenges, including heavy braking requirements at turns like Stowe. The championship leader, Martin, continues to hold a strong position in the standings, while Marc Marquez remains a close contender, trailing by only 18 points.
