Jorge Martín and Marc Márquez lead tight MotoGP title race

The 2026 MotoGP championship has entered a highly competitive final stage, with Jorge Martín holding a narrow two-point lead over Marc Márquez. With only five races remaining in the season, the battle for the premier class title is among the closest in recent years.

Martín, riding for Aprilia, currently sits at 355 points, while Márquez follows closely with 353 points. Marco Bezzecchi remains in contention but trails the leaders by 46 points. Former four-time world champion Max Biaggi has commented on the intensity of the season, describing it as a “beautiful” championship due to the tight standings.

Biaggi noted that while Aprilia has become highly competitive, previous errors within the team helped close the gap between the riders. He also highlighted Márquez as a formidable threat in the closing stages of the season, noting his historical ability to perform under pressure during title deciders.
