Jorge Martín Takes MotoGP World Championship Lead After Dutch Grand Prix

At the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen, Jorge Martín on an Aprilia surged to the top of the MotoGP riders' standings, overtaking former leader Marco Bezzecchi after the Italian crashed late in the race. Ai Ogura, riding for Aprilia, won the event – the first Japanese victory on home soil since 2004 – with Raúl Fernández (Aprilia) finishing second and Martín third. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducat) and Álex Márquez (Ducat) completed the top five, while Marc Márquez (Ducat) recovered to seventh after a difficult weekend.

The points gap narrowed dramatically: Martín now holds 193 points, Bezzecchi 186, Di Giannantonio 177, Ogura 168 and Márquez 152. The championship battle has become tightly contested, with just 40 points separating the new leader from his nearest rival.
