Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo criticizes health system shortages

Mexican actor and producer Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo has criticized the country's public health system following his recent medical struggles. While speaking to the press in Mexico City, the entertainer discussed his ongoing battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), a degenerative condition that has threatened his life over the last decade.

Ortiz de Pinedo reported significant improvements in his respiratory health and mobility following an emergency angioplasty performed in June to prevent a coronary artery from closing. He noted that his cardiopulmonary therapy has been highly successful, allowing him to reduce his dependence on supplemental oxygen.

Using irony, the producer addressed the shortage of medical supplies and medicines within the public sector. He remarked that the lack of resources has forced many, including himself, to rely on low-cost private alternatives and generic pharmacies for medical assistance and supplies.
