Jorge Pedersoli, legendary Argentine engine tuner, dies at 84

Jorge Pedersoli, a legendary engine tuner in Argentine motorsport, has died at the age of 84. He is recognized as the most successful engine preparer in the history of the Turismo Carretera (TC) category, having accumulated 14 championships over a career spanning more than five decades.

Pedersoli worked with several of the nation's most prominent drivers, including Carlos Pairetti, Roberto Mouras, and Francisco Espinosa. He was notably part of the partnership with Omar Wilke during the early stages of his career. One of his most significant professional relationships was with Juan María Traverso; together, they achieved three consecutive TC championships from 1995 to 1997 using Chevrolet engines.

His technical contributions were central to iconic racing moments, such as the 1968 championship win by Carlos Pairetti and Roberto Mouras's record-breaking six consecutive victories in 1976. His expertise extended beyond TC, contributing to Traverso's historic dual success in both TC and TC2000 in 1995.
