Jorge Polanco Reactivated by New York Mets

The New York Mets reinstated veteran infielder Jorge Polanco from the 60‑day injured list ahead of their series opener, ending a nearly three‑month absence caused by left Achilles bursitis and a wrist contusion. Polanco, who spent 11 rehab games in Double‑A and Triple‑A hitting three home runs, is expected to see most of his action as a designated hitter.

To clear a roster spot, the Mets optioned rookie infielder Ronny Mauricio to Triple‑A Syracuse. The club also added right‑hander Matt Seelinger after acquiring him for cash considerations and designated pitchers Guillermo Zúñiga and Alex Carrillo for assignment.
