Jorida Tabaku criticizes Albanian government policies and corruption

Democratic Party Deputy Jorida Tabaku has criticized the Albanian government's recent initiative regarding price transparency. Tabaku argued that citizens do not need ministers to direct them to cheaper markets, but rather require concrete policies to lower the cost of living. She noted that food prices, such as vegetables, are higher in Albania than in neighboring countries and called for increased support for local agriculture, fighting monopolies, reducing taxes, and increasing farmer subsidies.

Additionally, Tabaku addressed the arrest of Ergys Agasi, describing him as a mechanism within a broader system that links criminal money, public tenders, and political influence. She alleged that Agasi acted as an intermediary between organized crime and the state, specifically influencing information technology tenders. Tabaku claimed this system operates through three pillars: the integration of illicit funds into the legal economy, a privileged economy benefiting from state contracts and concessions, and the use of political and media influence to maintain control.
