Brazil police arrest suspect suspected of 16 murders while disguised as a woman

Jorlan Alves da Silva, a 33-year-old suspect, was arrested in Mulungu, Paraíba, while attempting to evade police in a disguise. Authorities reported that Silva was wearing a dress, a long black wig, sunglasses, and nail polish to hide his identity. During his arrest, he was also carrying a two-year-old child who is not a relative; police are investigating the circumstances of the child's presence.

Silva is currently a primary suspect in 16 homicides committed over the last three months in the Vale do Mamanguape region. During interrogation, he claimed to have killed approximately 80 people since he was 13 years old. While police are verifying these claims, they are currently focusing on the 16 recent murders, for which they have technical evidence and confessions.

Investigators are also examining a potential link between Silva and the Comando Vermelho criminal faction. Silva had been released from prison on parole in late May of this year.
