José Altuve surpasses Joe Morgan in MLB home run record

Houston Astros second baseman José Altuve has reached several significant milestones in Major League Baseball. He hit his 269th career home run, surpassing Hall of Famer Joe Morgan for the sixth-most home runs by a second baseman in MLB history.

Additionally, Altuve has recorded his 14th season with 100 or more hits, joining fellow Venezuelans Omar Vizquel and Bob Abreu in that distinction. During a recent game against the New York Yankees, Altuve recorded his 100th and 101st hits of the current season.

Altuve currently holds 2,490 career hits, moving past records held by players like 'Come dulce' (2,470). His career statistics also include 1,293 runs scored, 471 doubles, and 774 extra-base hits.
