José Beaurain faces allegations of fraud and harassment

José Beaurain, a National Rally (RN) deputy representing Aisne's 4th constituency, is facing serious allegations involving the misappropriation of public funds and harassment. Investigations by various media outlets suggest Beaurain may have engaged in irregular financial arrangements with parliamentary staff, including cash payments, fraudulent invoicing, and directing a collaborator to return half of their salary to the deputy's brother.

In addition to financial misconduct, a former collaborator has reportedly contacted the National Assembly's anti-harassment unit to report allegations of moral and sexual harassment. Beaurain has denied all accusations, describing them as “filthy and fanciful” claims made by former employees with whom he was in conflict.

The controversy has intensified due to reports that the RN leadership was alerted to these issues internally but proceeded to re-invest Beaurain as a candidate for the 2024 legislative elections and the 2026 municipal elections. The situation raises questions regarding internal party discipline and the transparency of parliamentary resource management.
