José Bianco quits TN, ignites debate on TV meteorology standards

After 17 years at Todo Noticias (TN), Argentine meteorologist José Bianco announced his departure, saying he “got tired of a couple of bosses.” In a live social‑media broadcast he explained the reasons for leaving and criticised other channels for presenting weather forecasts without proper professional training, calling for a specific law to regulate the profession.

Bianco’s statements triggered a public dispute with fellow meteorologist Daniel Roggiano of Telefe. Roggiano posted an Instagram video asserting that the matter was resolved after a respectful conversation, while Bianco also challenged the credibility of forecasts on C5N and other stations. The exchange spread widely on social media, with Bianco later correcting a viral video about a hailstorm, emphasizing that it “had nothing to do with cyclogenesis.”

Since leaving TN, Bianco has joined the program Perros de la Calle on Urbana Play, continues to share weather analysis on Instagram, and pursues personal projects such as converting a former bus into a motorhome for travel.
