Jos Buttler ruled out of England's ODI series in Pakistan

England wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI tri-series in Pakistan due to a hamstring injury. The injury was sustained during an ODI against Sri Lanka at Headingley, where Buttler was forced to retire hurt.

England coach Brendon McCullum confirmed that Buttler will not travel to Pakistan for the tournament, which is scheduled to begin on October 18. While Buttler is expected to focus on recovery, there is currently no definitive timeline for his return to international cricket. His absence may also impact England's subsequent series against Australia.

Jordan Cox is expected to step in to fill the void in both batting and wicketkeeping duties. Cox recently demonstrated his capability during the third ODI against Sri Lanka, scoring 76 runs and performing well behind the stumps. McCullum noted that while the loss is disappointing, the situation provides an opportunity to test the team's bench strength ahead of next year's ODI World Cup.
