José Carreras to perform opera concert in Dubrovnik

Spanish tenor José Carreras is scheduled to perform a concert in front of the Dubrovnik Cathedral on August 27, 2026. The event will take place within the UNESCO-protected historic center of Dubrovnik.

Carreras will be accompanied by soprano Dušica Bijelić and the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, conducted by David Giménez. Dubrovnik Mayor Mato Franković noted that the performance supports the city's promotion as a premier musical venue for global stars.

Carreras, a former member of the ‘Three Tenors’ alongside Luciano Pavarotti and Plácido Domingo, has sold over 85 million records throughout his career. Beyond his musical achievements, he is recognized for his humanitarian work through the José Carreras International Foundation, established following his battle with leukemia in 1987.
