José Gandarillas leads football data analytics project

Seven years after leaving Deportes Valdivia, José Gandarillas is leading a new predictive data analysis project for football called KPI Football. His current venture aims to assist clubs and organizations in making informed decisions through data, modeling the approach used by successful English clubs such as Brighton and Brentford.

Gandarillas reflected on his departure from Deportes Valdivia, noting that while the club was on an upward trajectory toward the First Division, internal disagreements regarding the use of funds from the sale of Canal del Fútbol prevented the completion of major projects, such as a sports complex. Following his exit, the club experienced a sporting decline and is currently competing in the Tercera B.
