José Luis Palomino becomes free agent after leaving Talleres

Argentine defender José Luis Palomino is currently a free agent following the rescission of his contract with Talleres de Córdoba in July 2026. The 36-year-old has not yet secured a new club, and with the transfer market closed, he may have to wait until 2027 to resume competitive play if no agreement is reached this year.

Palomino's recent tenure at Talleres was marked by physical issues that limited his continuity, during which he appeared in 20 matches. While there were rumors of a move to Independiente, the transfer did not materialize.

His career highlights include a successful period in Europe with Atalanta, which earned him a call-up to the Argentina national team by Lionel Scaloni for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. His professional history also includes stints at Metz, Ludogorets, and Cagliari. In 2022, he was involved in a doping case regarding clostebol, but was eventually acquitted by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
