José Luis Pastor performs historical evolution of the guitar

Spanish musician José Luis Pastor performed “Vade Mecum” at the Templo del Vino, presenting a historical journey of the guitar's evolution from the Middle Ages to the 21st century.

During the hour-long performance, Pastor utilized 12 different instruments to represent various musical eras. The repertoire included a 13th-century vihuela de péñola, pear-shaped medieval guitars, Renaissance guitars, and Baroque instruments. The showcase concluded with the modern electric guitar and a piece from the cuyano songbook, performed alongside local artist Roberto Mercado.
