José María Bazán appointed as Colombia national team assistant coach

José María Bazán has been appointed as the new assistant coach for the Colombia national football team, joining head coach Néstor Lorenzo. The 54-year-old Argentine replaces Luis Amaranto Perea, who departed to coach Independiente Medellín.

Bazán, a former central defender, brings extensive experience from clubs in the United States and Latin America. His previous coaching roles include working alongside Óscar Pareja at FC Dallas, Orlando City, and Xolos de Tijuana. Additionally, he has held positions at Pumas UNAM and Audax Italiano. His arrival is expected to take place during the team's preparation phase for upcoming international commitments.
