José María Giménez joins Deportivo La Coruña from Atlético Madrid

José María Giménez has departed Atlético Madrid to join Deportivo La Coruña, marking the end of a 13-year tenure at the Estadio Metropolitano. The 31-year-old Uruguayan defender finalized the move on the final day of the transfer window.

During his time with Atlético Madrid, Giménez secured several major honors, including two La Liga titles, the Europa League, and the Spanish Super Cup. Atlético captain Koke publicly honored his long-time teammate, stating, “Brother, after so many years sharing a locker room, it is hard to find words to say goodbye. We grew up together.”
