José María Martín resigns as Government Subdelegate in Almería

José María Martín has officially resigned from his position as the Government Subdelegate in Almería. The resignation, which has been published in the Official State Gazette (BOE), follows legal requirements regarding electoral compatibility.

Martín, who has held the role since late summer 2022, is heading the PSOE candidacy for the Senate in the province of Almería for the upcoming elections on November 29. Under the Organic Law of the General Electoral Regime (LOREG), holding the office of Government Subdelegate is incompatible with the right to stand for election.

Pedro Fernández, the Government Delegate in Andalusia, expressed gratitude for Martín’s two years of management. Authorities have not yet announced a successor for the Subdelegation.
