José María Muscari brings '8 Mujeres' to Buenos Aires theater

Director José María Muscari is bringing the acclaimed comedy-drama and mystery '8 Mujeres' back to the Calle Corrientes theater district in Buenos Aires. Based on the play by French author Robert Thomas, the production features a star-studded cast including Marita Ballesteros, Cecilia Dopazo, Emilia Mazer, María Leal, Linda Peretz, Juana Repetto, Silvia Pérez, and Mónica Villa.

The story is set in a country house during the 1950s, where a man is found murdered. Isolated by a snowstorm, the eight women present must navigate a web of secrets, old grudges, and lies to uncover the truth. This production marks a revival of the play, which originally debuted in 2011.

Actress Juana Repetto expressed significant emotion regarding her return to the stage for this project, noting that she had previously thought it would take years before she felt ready to act again. The new production will feature several members of the original cast, with new actresses stepping into roles previously held by deceased cast members.
