José María Pou to perform 'Gigante' at Teatro del Soho

Actor José María Pou will perform in the play ‘Gigante’ at the Teatro del Soho CaixaBank in Málaga on October 29 and 30. Written by Mark Rosenblatt and directed by Josep Maria Mestres, the production is inspired by real events involving British author Roald Dahl.

The play explores a controversial period in 1983 when Dahl faced intense scrutiny following the publication of an antisemitic article. Set during a single afternoon in Dahl's home, the narrative depicts the author as he navigates the fallout of his rhetoric while preparing his latest book for print. The story examines the tension between personal opinion and public responsibility, forcing the character to choose between a public apology and the potential loss of his reputation.

‘Gigante’ arrives in Málaga following its success in London's West End, where it won three Olivier Awards in 2025, including Best Show. The cast includes Victòria Pagès, Pep Planas, Clàudia Benito, Aida Llop, and Jep Barceló.
