José Mário Schreiner to lead Daniel Vilela's reelection campaign

José Mário Schreiner, president of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Goiás (Faeg), is set to become the general coordinator for Governor Daniel Vilela’s reelection campaign. The appointment follows a period of political tension after Schreiner was passed over for the vice-gubernatorial position, which was instead awarded to Luiz Carlos do Carmo (PSD).

To take on this electoral role, Schreiner is expected to temporarily step down from his leadership position at Faeg. The move is seen as a strategic effort by the governing group to consolidate support from the agribusiness sector and repair relationships within the coalition. During the recent period of uncertainty regarding the ticket composition, Schreiner had been approached by political opponents, including Marconi Perillo and Wilder Morais, but has ultimately chosen to remain aligned with Vilela’s campaign.
