José Ortega debuts ‘El Origen’ collection at RD Fashion Week 2026

At RD Fashion Week 2026, Dominican designer José Ortega presented his collection titled ‘El Origen’. The collection featured 18 looks crafted entirely from linen, designed to reflect the tropical climate and Caribbean lifestyle of the Dominican Republic.

The designs utilized linen for its breathability and texture, incorporating various styles of tailoring including blazers, jackets, and tuxedos. The color palette consisted of sand, beige, sky blue, navy blue, chocolate brown, lemon green, and orange.

As part of the showcase, Eduardo Falette, a Production Design student at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), made his modeling debut on the runway for Ortega’s collection. The event, held at the Hotel Marriott Santo Domingo Piantini, serves as a platform to promote emerging talent within the Dominican fashion industry.
