José Peseiro eyes continued stint in Saudi Arabia while keeping door open for Portugal return

Portuguese coach José Peseiro is currently in charge of Al‑Ula, a Saudi Arabian second‑division club, where he aims to achieve promotion. He highlighted the club’s ambitious project, noting its quality structure, organization and recent average of 2.47 points per game.

Peseiro said he does not want to finish his career without returning to Portugal, expressing interest in possible projects such as Famalicão. He acknowledged the dramatic rise of Saudi football following Cristiano Ronaldo’s move, describing the league’s improved infrastructure and competitiveness. While he sees a return to Portuguese football as difficult, he remains open to future opportunities.

The coach, who previously managed Sporting, Porto, Braga and Vitória de Guimarães, reiterated his intention to keep coaching at least until his early 70s.
