José Pimentel Moncada kidnapped in Los Mochis, Sinaloa

José Pimentel Moncada, president of the Central de Abastos in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, was allegedly kidnapped on August 20. According to family members, he was intercepted by two individuals in vehicles as he was leaving the market facilities on Rosendo G. Castro Street.

In a video shared on social media, family members appealed for his safe return, describing him as an honest worker dedicated to agriculture and transport who has never been involved in trouble. While the family has filed a formal complaint, the Sinaloa State Attorney General's Office has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident or the identity of the suspects.

The abduction occurs amid a period of heightened insecurity and violence in Sinaloa, stemming from internal conflicts within the Sinaloa Cartel that began in late 2024.
