José Rafael Sosa releases cancer prevention book

Four cooperative organizations—CONACOOP, Coopmanoguayabo, Cooperativa La Altagracia, and CoopMaimón—have sponsored the publication of ‘Sr. Cáncer… ¿En qué puedo servirle?’, a book by journalist and writer José Rafael Sosa.

Presented at the XXVIII Santo Domingo International Book Fair, the work serves as both a testimonial and an educational tool regarding cancer prevention and management. The book is based on Sosa’s personal experiences with three oncological processes: prostate cancer in 2008, tongue base cancer in 2024, and a recurrence of prostate cancer in 2025.

Through his narrative, Sosa combines personal experiences with medical insights to advocate for reliable information, timely medical attention, and the importance of family and community support networks for those facing the disease.
