José Roberto de Castro Neves to lecture on Law and Literature in Campo Grande
Jurist, professor, and writer José Roberto de Castro Neves, a member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters (ABL), will deliver a lecture titled ‘Law and Literature’ in Campo Grande. The event is part of the 2026 cultural exchange program organized by the Academia Sul-Mato-Grossense de Letras (ASL).
Castro Neves will discuss how literary narratives can serve as tools for ethical sensitization and technical improvement for legal professionals, particularly in response to rapid technological advancements. He argues that literature fosters the empathy required to judge real-world conflicts and understand the nuances of human behavior.
The program also includes visual arts by Sônia Maria de Medeiros Possi and musical performances by composer Felipe Machado. The event is free to the public and held at the ASL auditorium.
