José Soto appointed as Deportivo Moquegua manager

José Soto has returned to top-flight football as the new head coach of Deportivo Moquegua. His primary objective is to help the club avoid relegation to Liga 2 during the final stages of the Torneo Clausura.

Soto faces a challenging schedule, including upcoming matches against direct rivals in Cajamarca and Tarma, as well as major clubs Alianza Lima and Universitario. The club currently sits in the penultimate position of the Liga 1 cumulative table with 25 points.

As part of his initial restructuring, Soto announced the return of attackers Kevin Ruiz and Alonso Dávila to first-team training. Ruiz is recovering from an injury, while Dávila returns following a disciplinary separation from the main squad. Club president Ricardo Caldas expressed confidence in the team's ability to overcome the difficult upcoming fixtures.
