Josan Ferrández, Elche CF captain, released without charge after domestic abuse allegation

Josan Ferrández, captain of Elche CF, was arrested by the Civil Guard in Callosa de Segura following an alleged domestic abuse complaint made by his partner, Rosa Duarte. The incident occurred during a period of separation for the couple, who share two children.

Following his appearance before the Orihuela Violence Against Women Court, Ferrández was released without charge. The case has been provisionally shelved because his partner decided against pursuing the complaint.

In a joint statement, Ferrández and Duarte confirmed they are undergoing divorce proceedings and requested privacy, stating that they maintain mutual respect and that there are currently no open legal proceedings affecting the player. Elche CF also confirmed that no pending complaints or legal proceedings regarding the matter are on record for their captain.
