Macedonia celebrates 35 years of independence with major musical events
North Macedonia is hosting a series of major musical events in Skopje to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the country's independence. The celebrations feature international stars alongside prominent Macedonian artists.
Spanish tenor José Carreras performed at Macedonia Square with the Macedonian Philharmonic, joined by local stars such as Karolina Gočeva, Kaliopi, and Vlatko Stefanovski. The concert was organized by Avalon Production in cooperation with the government.
Other scheduled events include the ‘Best of Macedonia’ project at the Boris Trajkovski Arena, featuring artists like Slatkarištika and Superhiks. Additionally, the multimedia spectacle ‘Strongly Lit Day’ will involve over 120 artists on September 4. The celebrations will culminate on September 8 at the Toše Proeski National Arena with a performance by world-renowned DJ David Guetta as part of his ‘The Monolith Stadium Show’.
