Jose Galindo leads DOP Valtiendas wine production

Jose Galindo, the mayor of Valtiendas and president of the DOP Valtiendas wine region, continues to manage his family's viticulture legacy in Segovia, Spain. After failing to join the Ribera del Duero DO, local producers established the DOP Valtiendas to preserve their Tempranillo heritage.

The Galindo family began planting vineyards in the Ardalejos area in 1998, starting with 8 hectares. That area has since expanded to over 15 hectares. Galindo serves as both a winemaker and a viticulturist, focusing on organic and biodynamic farming methods.
