Jose Mourinho addresses Real Madrid player dispute
Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has addressed the previous locker room conflict between midfielders Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni, stating that no intervention was required to resolve the issue. The two players were involved in a series of incidents last May, including a confrontation that resulted in Valverde receiving a head injury and being hospitalized. Following those events, Real Madrid conducted disciplinary proceedings and issued fines totaling 500,000 euros to both players.
Mourinho noted that the players appear to have resolved their differences internally, observing that they behave like “very good friends” within the squad. He emphasized that any recent instances where the players have not played together are due to sporting decisions and midfield competition rather than personal tension. The players previously apologized to the team, coaching staff, and fans following the dispute.
